About Employee & Family Resources
Employee & Family Resources, Inc. is a not-for-profit human services organization established in 1964, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. As a leader and innovator in the field of human services, EFR strengthens families, workplaces and communities by improving the emotional and behavioral wellbeing of youth and adults. EFR was established as the first and remains the only Iowa affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.
To meet customer and client needs, EFR provides professional and culturally relevant services, including prevention, assessment, referral, counseling, case management, professional development and communication accessibility. EFR is well known for its work with youth, adults and families in the Des Moines area as well as its national employee assistance program (EAP) including services to corporate customers through Workplace Services.
EFR offers a wide range of services to individuals, families and employers. These range from comprehensive substance abuse, gambling and violence prevention to language interpretation services. Additional programs address the needs of high-risk youth and their families, Spanish language counseling targeted at low-income individuals and families, behavior and performance issues for students and restorative justice for youth with substance abuse concerns.
