Employee & Family Resources, Inc. is a not-for-profit human services organization established in 1964, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. As a leader and innovator in the field of human services, EFR is committed to serving the emotional and behavioral well-being of children, youth and adults. The organization was established as the first and remains the only Iowa affiliate of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.

To meet customer and client needs, EFR provides professional and culturally relevant services, including prevention, assessment, referral, counseling, case management, professional development and communication accessibility. EFR is well known for its work with youth, adults and families in the Des Moines area as well as its national employee assistance program (EAP) including services to corporate customers through Workplace Services.

Today, EFR employs 80+ full-time people, administers services within three business units and its programs—from comprehensive substance abuse and violence prevention to language interpretation services—directly impact more than 100,000 children, youth and adults each year. Additional programs address tobacco use prevention and cessation, Spanish-language counseling targeted at low-income individuals and families, American Sign Language interpreting and the underage possession of alcohol.
