Having been born in Mississippi during the time when segregation and Jim Crow Laws were alive and well, to moving to Iowa was a Culture shock never to be forgotten. Completing my education in the North, the South and back to the North, during different growing pains in different regions of our society, lends to many life lessons in diversity and inclusivity.
Having a life calling to serve, and working in every aspect of Human Services, in different parts of this country has allowed for countless opportunities to learn and grow and to help people I have encountered to learn and grow also.
I do believe it is important not to go through life aimlessly but find your purpose and be about that purpose daily....make a difference no matter how small.
Ah ...and then there is MUSIC ......The Universal Language!!!!
