Restorative Justice

Class Assistance

This volunteer would assist the trained facilitators in the Rethinking Drinking class with organization of class material, participate in group discussion regarding underage drinking and its effects to the community, and help youth come up with their restorative agreements.

Community Liaison

In collaboration with other community members, this volunteer would identify and present the effects of the crime on the community as a whole as related to the offense that was committed during the Victim - Offender Meeting as well as assist the youth develop their restorative agreements.

Victim Advocate

This volunteer would provide advocacy services during the Victim - Offender Meeting, when the victim themselves is not available or would prefer not to participate, by speaking on behalf of the victim including how the harm of the crime directly impacted them, their family, and their community. They would also assist the other community members with coming up with specific ways that the offender can repair the harm done.
