Employee & Family Resources, Inc. (EFR) receives Diversity Award from the Greater Des Moines Partnership
Des Moines, Iowa, January 27, 2009 — EFR received a small-company Diversity Award from The Greater Des Moines Partnership at the Partnership's 120th Annual Dinner held Thursday, January 22, 2008 at Hy-Vee Hall. The Partnership honored three companies that met specific guidelines regarding employee demographics, recruitment, retention, and vendor relationships, and each hosted an on-site visit.
Dr. Paul Hedquist, CEO of Employee & Family Resources, accepted the award on behalf of the organization. "I was extremely honored to accept this Diversity Award on behalf of EFR," said Hedquist. "Being based in the Midwest, we face unique challenges in recruiting and retaining minority workers, particularly for positions requiring advanced degrees, professional licenses or certifications. However, our long-time commitment to concerted efforts in this regard has yielded meaningful results. Not only are we serving our diverse clients and customers more competently--with program staff from the very cultures our services target--but we also are a much more rich organization internally."
EFR's Diversity/Inclusivity Committee is led by Keitha Boardman, Director of Human Resources. "The Diversity/Inclusivity Committee is an example of EFR Administration's ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusivity in the workplace," said Boardman. "At EFR, weaving the fabric of inclusivity in the workplace is all about intention and perseverance. There is no finish line – it is ongoing."
