Where Diversity Works
Programs and services offered by Employee & Family Resources® are facilitated by culturally competent staff with an unwavering commitment to the acceptance of all individuals with dignity and respect. Some of our programs are specifically designed to aid people of diverse backgrounds who struggle to gain access to services because of language barriers.
The diversity of the staff of Employee & Family Resources is a core asset providing resources that are inclusive and accessible. Everyone deserves access to the resources needed to get well and stay well. Employee & Family Resources is the resource connection in Iowa.
Interpreting/Translating
Employee & Family Resources has staff who can interpret or translate community services in Bosnian, Laotian, Spanish, Tai-dam, Thai, and American Sign Language. Services are provided for an hourly fee and due to a high demand for interpreters, individuals are encouraged to schedule as early as possible, please call 515-244-2297.
Cultural Diversity Consulting and Training
Culturally diverse workers who are at odds, or who simply do not understand each other, inhibit productivity. Culturally competent workgroups, on the other hand, create cooperative workplace environments where productivity expectations can be met or surpassed. The Diversity Training & Consulting services of Workplace Services, designed by former Des Moines Mayor Preston Daniels, bring to the workplace an awareness of today’s multicultural issues, techniques to bring about positive changes in attitudes, understanding of the value of others, and skills for working with diverse individuals.
