Substance use and abuse can occur anywhere, but what happens when it crosses over into the workplace. Employees who abuse alcohol or other drugs are more likely to call in sick or be late for work, have poor workplace performance, and place co-workers at increased safety risks.

According to the Substance Abuse Mental Health Administration, “Of all drug users, 68.9% are employed and active in the workplace.”

The Prevention Team at Employee & Family Resources is here to help. Serving Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Polk, and Warren counties, our team of Prevention Specialists can provide your company with technical assistance and support to address substance abuse issues of concern. This may include staff presentations on current drug trends, develop talking points for Human Resources that address ways to assist an employee with a substance abuse related issue, and/ or assist in updating or creating workplace policies that create safe and healthy environments free from substance abuse.
