Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) Evaluations
Does your business have "safety sensitive" employees as defined by Federal Department of Transportation regulations? Are you in need of a qualified Substance Abuse Professional to refer employees to following a DOT violation such as a positive mandatory random drug test? If so, Employee & Family Resources can help.
EFR's qualified Substance Abuse Professionals meet Federal DOT guidelines for work experience, SAP-specific training and examination, and continuing education. We are able to conduct the federally-mandated initial evaluation, referral to appropriate treatment or other community resources, in-person follow-up evaluation, and all required documentation to help you comply with Federal law.
Please contact us for more information about the SAP evaluation process or to make a referral.

Private Sector Drug Free Workplaces
Iowa Code Section 730.5 Private Sector Drug-Free Workplaces, requires that any employer located (or doing business) in Iowa that chooses to test its employees or prospective employees for drugs or alcohol may do so according to Iowa law.
Does the law apply to your company? Is your company required to conduct drug testing? What if an employee tests positive?
Read the Iowa code to find out more information.
If you are an Iowa employer that conducts drug and/or alcohol testing of employees or prospective employees, all supervisory personnel involved with such testing are required to participate in annual training. EFR has demonstrated expertise in this area and stands ready to provide this training for your company. Please contact us at 515-244-2297 for additional information.
Alcohol and Drug Self-Assessment
Are you concerned that you may have a problem with alcohol and/or other drug use? Do family members encourage you to get help, complain about your drinking or using, or threaten to leave you if you don't stop?
If so, these confidential self-assessments may be helpful.
Once you have completed the self-assessment, please contact EFR's Substance Abuse Professionals with any questions or to schedule an appointment for a confidential assessment.
