Crisis Response and Conflict Management

Workplace Crisis Response
Employee & Family Resources recognizes the importance of planning for, and providing immediate and caring responses to, critical incidents that impact your workplace. Examples of critical incidents include:
- employee or family death
- serious injury
- natural disasters
- on- and off-site accidents
- robbery
- workforce changes
In the event of a critical incident, managers can immediately consult with our crisis response team to arrange for appropriate response services, including on-site group debriefings, generally held within 72 hours of the incident. Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISDs) have been demonstrated to accelerate the recovery of employees from traumatic events, while helping business operations get back to normal as quickly as possible. Conflict Management and Mediation
Wherever people work together, conflict is inevitable. Unmanaged employee conflict is perhaps the least recognized business problem in organizations today. The business costs related to conflict range from wasted time and productivity to absenteeism, turnover, theft, and the increased potential for workplace violence.
EFR's Conflict Management team offers an affordable and sensible alternative to the risks of continued workplace conflict. A trained facilitator will interview key managers and employees to define the business problem and lead the parties towards an agreement to solve it. Participating employees will be challenged to:
- Define the business costs related to their conflict
- Examine their attitude and approach towards conflict management
- Learn about the causes of the conflict and its impact on others in the work environment
- Receive constructive feedback regarding their own behavior and communications style
- Develop new skills to manage their differences
- Dialogue towards an agreement on a business solution
